The loss of Joe Leavitt, a talented baseball player, devoted student, and beloved member of the Byron Center community, has left a hole in the hearts of all who knew him. A recent graduate of Byron Center High School and a student-athlete at Grace Christian University, Joe was known for his determination on the baseball field and his kindness off of it.
Joe’s passion for baseball started at a young age and grew as he continued his academic and athletic journey at Grace Christian University. His love for the sport was reflected in his commitment to training and his infectious enthusiasm during games. Joe’s skill as an athlete was evident, but it was his ability to uplift those around him that truly made him special.
Whether on the field or in the classroom, he was always supportive, motivating, and eager to learn. Joe’s legacy extends beyond his athletic accomplishments. As a son, he was deeply loved by his parents, and as a brother, he was always there for his siblings. His friendships were meaningful, and his ability to bring people together was one of his most cherished qualities.
Though Joe’s time on this earth was far too short, his impact will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who loved him.
